The secret to productivity is that it goes hand in hand with organization and the best way to prepare for an efficient school year is to equip yourself with the correct tools to organize. Although there are countless planner and to-do list apps out there, Any.do is one that you should definitely try out.

Any.do is a productivity app that allows you to combine all your important tasks, events and reminders in one place. The app works across countless different platforms and even allows you to integrate your existing personal calendars like Google calendar, etc. The app is also compatible with any virtual assistant programs you may use, like Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant.

Any.do lets you create different groups of lists to categorize all of your different tasks, it even has a specific section for your grocery list. One of the best features of Any.do, in my opinion, is how it helps you prioritize your tasks. The app breaks down your to-list tasks by time, it creates 4 different categories including “Today,” “Tomorrow,” “Upcoming” and “Someday.” This feature not only lets you clearly see when you need to get what done but it also allows you to to add tasks that you can’t yet give a deadline to. There are so many tasks that we all have in the back of our head that we categorize as “when I have the time, I will” and this “Someday” option allows you to organize that too.

The most important thing when it comes to organizational tools and planner apps is that they must be customizable and they must work well for you. Any.do has a very easy user interface that makes it easy to use and customize and it is an app that everyone should definitely check out.

Photomath

Photomath is an app that any student who has ever taken a math course absolutely has to have, if they don’t already. Photomath is a free educational app that allows you to use your phone’s camera to scan equations and then provides step-by-step solutions to those equations.

Photomath is such a big helping hand in completing math homework, and the best part about it is that it provides step-by-step explanations for the solutions. Photomath can also be used to clear up concepts that you may be struggling with. The app also has a history feature that allows you to go back and look at solutions that you may have previously needed.

Some of the app’s newest features include solutions to popular textbook questions and a tutor chat function. These are features that I personally have yet to check out but in general Photomath is a great tool that all math students should use to their advantage.

Quizlet

The final app in this list seems a little obvious and unnecessary, but Quizlet is one of the most underrated student apps. For those who may not know Quizlet is a flashcard app that allows you to create and study different flashcard sets. But Quizlet is ridiculously undervalued!

Upon creating your own flashcard set, you can study it regularly as you study physical flashcards, but Quizlet has really unique learning tools that help you actually process the terms you want to study. Quizlet utilizes different quizzing methods to help you fully understand your flashcards and even tracks your progress with learning. Quizlet will divide your set of flashcards into smaller sections and individually rearrange them in various ways to help you learn them.

The best part about Quizlet is that because it is an app you can use it whenever you want or need. One of my biggest hacks throughout high school was learning my flashcard terms on Quizlet on my way to school, either in the car or on the bus. The accessibility to the app was my favourite part and it made learning, sometimes large sets of terms, very convenient.

Another great feature of Quizlet is that even if you don’t want to make your own set of flashcards there are often existing flashcards sets that people have made for many different popular courses. Quizlet makes it very easy to find and browse preexisting flashcard sets and is overall a very useful learning tool that all students need.
